This extends to a few other applications which use APIs that have an underlying requirement of 3D graphics support from the GPU. Many games require 3D graphics, so they cannot work in a VM. It is normally displayed once on first launch of the appication and has nothing to do with whether the application will work in your High Sierra VM.Īs you mention games, the likely problem with most of your applications is that a virtualised macOS is not able to offer 3D graphics hardware. The "App is not optimized…" message is displayed to alert you that the app is 32-bit and won't run in a later macOS version which drops support for 32-bit apps (which turned out to be Catalina, 10.15).
